Let's start out with the Good. this is a lovely, vintage-looking miniature. Once assembled, you will enjoy showcasing it on a shelf in your home. Now, straight on to the bad. there are so many wonderful reviews for the product it leaves me a bit mystified. I enjoy making custom cards and it has been a longtime hobby of mine, so I am used to working with very delicate material. However, after breaking several pieces on my first go around--- yes, I said first because I had to request a replacement miniature--- I sought my husband's advice. His grandfather owned a custom wood/cabinetry shop and my husband grew up learning from the best. My husband instantly looked at the wood and said it was brittle because the wood was too dried out. That is when I ordered a replacement through ebay, who graciously sent me another one. (Kudos to ebay!).This is where the Ugly comes in to play. the wood on the second miniature was even drier than the original. The only saving grace is that I did learn a little from trying to assemble the first puzzle. In most instances the pegs are too big for the receiving hole. Instead of struggling to get pieces to fit together, which put greater strain on the miniature and increased the chance of breakage, I purchased a modeling kit from ebay. The kit contained different size files perfect for this type of work. Despite my best efforts, due to the wood being so dry, I did break several pieces, which required a little ingenuity. If you look closely at the gramophone's amplifier, you will see several broken pieces at the bottom near the neck. To hide this, I glued a peg to the back of the center piece and brought it out to cover the broken pieces. Now, you cannot see the broken pieces unless you are actively looking for them.In summary, would I buy another miniature from Rolife? Yes. I already have one picked out. I am not sure if it is because I am a glutton for punishment or because I do like how they look when they are done. If they were more expensive, then no. The price would not be worth the quality you are receiving.Ultimately, I gave it a three star rating based on how well it looks once completed. I would have given it five stars, but I deducted two stars because two out of two miniatures had dried out wood resulting in damage. It is very rare for me to write a negative review, however, after reading all the wonderful reviews I wanted to make sure that the next Buyer understands what they MAY receive.Oh, and one last thing, I refuse to call this a puzzle--- unless the puzzle part is about how to put it together without anything breaking.
