The lid is falling apart and that's the problem. It takes TWO hands to lift it as it gets stuck due to the heat suction and you have to squeeze it from BOTH sides to stop the suction - otherwise it will pull up the glass turntable in the microwave and spill the food out of plates (under the lid). It may also cause the glass turntable to fall on the tabletop and break! There is a small tab that can be removed to allow steam to escape, but that doesn't solve the problem of not being able to lift it by the handle. In addition, it got so hot that it burned the skin when it was lifted.
