It's as simple as it gets.
I bought it to transfer some videos from a Hi8 video camera, it couldn't be simpler. I have a Sony camera that connects (4 pin mini) to the recorder, I push a button and transfer everything. I also had some photos from the same event on the XD card and added them to the post. One touch to close the DVD and you're done. Images and videos are played back in very high resolution. All this without connecting to a PC without software is nothing. When you connect it to a computer, the included software loads just fine. This is a great device.
