Review on Powerful Cleaning with Shark HZ602 Corded Ultralight Vacuum by Mike Sutton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for corded vacuums

I have a couple of inexpensive cordless vacuums that are more of a quick and easy way to clean up between a more thorough cleaning. I have a corded canister vacuum that I use for deep cleaning but it doesn't fit my carpets so I decided to try the Shark HZ602 to replace one or more of my other vacuums. PROS: -Very powerful -Easy maneuverability -Easy to empty dust bin -Wide cleaning path -Headlights make dirt more visible -Brush roller reduces hair tangles -Long cord CONS: -No HEPA filter -Difficult to carry when storing/disassembling I really like the Shark HZ602 . It works very well and has no problem picking up small debris like dust and hair or larger debris like pet food. It also gets along very well with my carpets, which was key for me. The wide cleaning path also means fewer passes to clean my carpets and hard floors. The headlight is great allowing you to see dust and dirt before you walk on it and how it looks after. The "self-cleaning" brush roll reduces tangles significantly, but not completely. It is much easier to clean than regular brushes. And while cordless designs are very convenient, the HZ602's long cord makes it easy to clean a large area without frequently plugging and unplugging. I only have two complaints. The main downside is that the HZ602 doesn't have a HEPA filter, so it's not ideal for allergy sufferers. Luckily I have some very good air purifiers at home, so I just turn them on while vacuuming and everything seems to work fine. My other complaint is that it's uncomfortable to carry the vacuum around when I'm done using it. I understand that these vacuum structures with powerful engines will always be very heavy at the top, so they won't be able to defy gravity and stay upright on their own. Being able to hook the motor to the bottom of the vacuum makes it easy to store and I love that. But some sort of handle or more convenient part of the case would make it easier to carry when stowed away or taken out for use. I'm pretty happy with the Shark HZ602 and am planning on getting rid of my two cordless wax sticks. The HZ602 is powerful enough that I don't have to get my Miele cylinder vacuum out that often, so that's definitely my win.
