It's a special red and blue color that most manufacturers don't seem to make for stupid reasons. You can later sell us as an upgrade. I'll go with the smaller one because that's what I have. This is not a flashy dinner. But its brightness is enough for small aquariums. I doubled it up to another light source. On my big hex tank. It has tons of moss and plants with high to low light/red. Because it's so deep I don't really think it's too much. But I noticed a small difference in height. And everything that is closer to the surface, in glass jars. They grow very well and are bright in color. Conclusion: A great budget lamp with a timer setting. Highlighted red and blue setting for plants. It will probably be very effective in shallow aquariums. Decent construction, just clean the dirt off the plexiglass every week. Doesn't get very hot, probably by design, unlike brighter bulbs. Safety is the top priority. I didn't notice a pleasant flickering. If I had a 55+ long tank. I would use this in combination with another grow light.
