The latter is aided by sturdy and well-placed handles and accessible wheels that lock into place. When not in use, they fold (even with the wheels installed) into a relatively compact state. I'm speaking relatively as this would still be the height of the bin plus the overlap for each folded bin. That means you get them in a giant box that literally fits one person. As this is a trash can there is no assembly (other than the extra wheels) or instructions. Because they're made from the durable material, you can treat them like the trash inside and they'll be just as good tomorrow as they were today. The price is a bit higher compared to much more fragile cans, but compared to cans of similar size and quality (and knowing how long they last) the price is very reasonable. I wouldn't say it will be a family heirloom passed down from generation to generation, but people have inherited worse things too! Highly recommended
