Review on Ford 9L8Z 3511 A Housing by Joshua Mccall

You can do this. in ignition locks

This fixed a starting problem in a 2010 Ford Focus. You will need a 5.5mm socket, a small ratchet, a screwdriver and a Dremel cutting wheel. You can use a dremel or hacksaw blade to cut a slot in the screw to remove it and use the same screw for installation with just a flat blade screwdriver. Once you've removed the outer plastic shell, you don't need to unscrew any torx screws you see, just three 5.5mm screws [see photo]. Drawings]. The lower one is shown with a mirror. Lots of patience and about an hour of your time and you're good to go. Move the lock cylinder from the old lock to the new one by pressing the latch located in the small hole at the top of the lock cylinder. Use a small screwdriver or pickaxe to remove. I think it has to be in the acc position to pull the cylinder out.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Mostly good but...
