At first my son had no idea what we were doing when we put practice toothpaste in his mouth. After a few tries, he is very happy to hold this toothbrush in his hand and "brush” his milk teeth with it. This is great for teething babies and adults who are easy to help (if he opens his mouth wider we can easily brush his back molars lightly). I was concerned that brushing a young child's teeth would be a huge hassle, but this toothbrush definitely made things easier.
