. They cost less than $8 per 100. There's a reason for that: they require some work to install. After installation, they must be removed with wire cutters. But they attach the tools to the perforated plate. To install them, fill an insulated mug with boiling water. Dip the curls in water and let them warm up. Then use needle nose pliers to straighten the lock a bit. Insert one pin into the board and use the long nose to insert the other pin into the board. The lock cools down quickly and when it does the tool will snap and that's it. Sure, it's a little annoying to heat up a lock, but once I've installed a lock, I want it to stay in place for years. So for $8 per $100, heating the locks before installation isn't a big deal. This works great for me. But if you move your tools around a lot and install a lot of locks each year, you might want to look elsewhere.
