Good Price - Clothing and Accessories

For the price this jacket is pretty good. It's lightweight but seems to have enough insulation to get through most winter days here in Chicago. If the temperature drops below 15 degrees (F) and we're going to be out for a while I wear a sweater underneath, but otherwise it should be fine. I can't comment on the water resistance as I haven't had a chance to test it yet. When I took it out of the box my first thought was how light it seemed and I immediately wondered if the shell material would hold up to even the slightest bit of abuse, but so far so good. My pup has had several wrestling matches with his hooded friends and has had no problems so far. The fleece lining collects hair like a magnet, but that's true of every winter jacket I've seen. I had three goals: 1. Something that fits. 2. Something that stays closed. (without velcro)3. Easy to turn on and off My girl is long, tall and skinny. 55 pounds. My concern has always been to find a coat that is long enough and not too baggy elsewhere. This one works. Bought XL. It's still a bit short for her but with the side straps shortened, otherwise it fits pretty well. (I'm pretty sure an XXL would be too baggy.) Stretchy leg traps will never work the way they're placed, but that's not a problem because I know she hates those things anyway. (I just cut it off. This causes the back of the jacket to dangle a bit in the wind, but that's not a problem for us.) This jacket is honestly a lot easier to put on and take off than any other. I have, they all have Velcro. Put it on your head, grasp the straps under your bust and fasten them like a harness. If your pet has a large head/neck this can be an issue as the neck opening is narrow and not adjustable (or elastic), but for us it's almost perfect. The plastic buckles are large and easy to use, but they're not designed to carry the heavy loads of harnesses. But they don't have to be. The foldable collar is also practical. I used it in two directions: tether down and tether up. The long zipper for belt access is a much better design than most jackets, but I still find it easier to wear the belts over it. personal preference. (I bought a second harness that I adjusted a little looser to wear over sweaters, jackets, etc.). The combination of reflective stripes on the jacket and harness makes them glow like a carnival float at night. (see photo) Conclusion: I will probably buy another one to keep as a spare.
