Review on πŸ”Œ Impressive IOGEAR Wireless Transmitter Receiver GWHD11: Unleash Seamless Connectivity! by Michelle Taylor

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Randomly resets the signal even when there is no obvious source of interference

An endless source of irritation. This device appears to have been designed to infuriate. I would return it, but that would make it impossible for me to smash it with a hammer, douse the remains with kerosene and set it on fire. Typical usage scenario: 1) Plug in receiver 2) Turn on receiver 3) Turn on monitor 4) After 30-90 seconds the monitor goes blank, my keyboard and mouse and all open applications freeze temporarily while the operating system adjusts to the image loss that the monitor becomes blank5) The monitor finds a signal6) After 1-5 seconds, repeat steps 4-67) Do you remember why I never use this piece of junk and turn off the receiver again? Apparently it uses the same spectrum as 5G Wi-Fi but lacks channel selection. All 5G devices in my house are disabled. Even with the Wi-Fi adapter disabled on my phone and all other devices set to 2.4GHz, I still see constant interference. The receiver and transmitter are within 12 feet of each other, separated by only 1/8 inch plywood. The only other source of logic interference is my neighbors' routers - although it's not an apartment or townhouse, I give it 2 stars because when it's working, which is rare, it gives an HD signal. However, it's so unreliable and so destructive when it fails that I can't use it. .

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Sparse instructions
