I've had this air conditioner for about a month now and so far it's working better than expected. Most air conditioners - no matter how "quiet" they call themselves - are not at all quiet. I had the problem over the years with different models that the filter always vibrated in front of the front vents and caused a loud hum. This one did the same. So I did what I always do and put a small piece of foam rubber between the vent cover slots. It used to help, but it was still annoying. When I did that with this air conditioner it got so quiet it's hard to tell when the condenser is running because it makes the same quiet noise as the fan. For the first time in years, I don't have to turn up the volume on the TV because of the noise. Anyone who invents a plug-in filter that stays put and doesn't make any noise should patent it! " mode and fan speed. Additional functions turn into a very complex LCD remote control that can be an airplane control panel. Trying to jump through all the hoops to get the right setting is more of a worry, so I only use the front touch control buttons For most people it doesn't matter if the remote is lost or broken as the touch control buttons offer the same options - just switch between modes A good choice, easy to install and fairly light so it can be done by one person.
