Not recognized by Windows or Linux until Fire formats it
On the one hand, the card is fast and a good size for the $10 I paid for it. On the other hand, I had to use the Fire HD10 to format it as up to that point our Windows 10 laptop was acting like it had encountered faulty hardware and the Linux desktop was reporting that due to a fatal I/About error. Even Linux's low-level disk recovery utilities refused to touch it, and I've used them to fix failed disks from over 20 years ago. I was about to return it when I saw someone mention that Fire would automatically format it and ended up trying out of frustrated desperation.
