This tool is extremely strong. That can be good or bad. We have a 25 gallon tank with glass about 3/16" thick. It's almost too thin for this vacuum cleaner. Why? Because this magnet is so strong, my skinny, no muscles, my wife can barely use it pull! Glass, the closer the magnets and the stronger the attraction. It's strong. Do you have a 1/4" or 1/2" glass tank? This cleaner is for you! If you stick the two halves together with no glass in between, you can't pull them apart (True! and I'm 5'11" and 175 lbs)) You need to rotate the halves 90 degrees to reduce the contact area of the magnet to reduce the force enough to pull the halves together separate. Also, I wouldn't wear a watch next to this instrument. It's so strong!
