My cockatiel is obsessed with this thing. I could put rocks in, and he still turned them all day to get them out. I think he enjoys throwing food away more than eating treats. I usually just throw in some of his regular pellets and he loves it. It's not the sharpest tool in the pen, so even if your bird is a bit overweight, it should be able to figure it out while you show him the tips.
