Review on 🍦 Effortlessly Delicious: Amazon Basics 1.5 Quart Automatic Homemade Ice Cream Maker by Darrius Frison

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice little machine!

I was skeptical but at half the price of the others I decided to give it a try. This is my first ice cream maker that doesn't require rock salt, so again, be skeptical, but after the first 24 hours of waiting for the bowl to freeze and a couple of hours for the base to cool, it only took 20 minutes to get one not very soft consistency to whip (it was much more difficult). than I expected!) I poured it into the sumo ice cream bucket I bought to go with it and popped it in the freezer for a couple of hours. Instructions for use (too "cocoay" for my liking) but that's the RECIPE I used and it's not the fault of the machine that worked perfectly. I agree with another reviewer who suggested assembling the base, turning it on, THEN pouring into the bowl through the hole in the lid. It STARTS freezing almost immediately. The bowl still seemed frozen after the 20 minutes it took to whip it. Basically I'm satisfied so far. Time will tell about the quality/durability of the machine itself.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Embarrassing
