Review on Kikkerland Birch Biodegradable Paper Straws by Brinson Quarterman

Chic and Eco-Friendly

I bought these for my son's old circus birthday party. We placed them in empty glass milk bottles to complete the snack table's old-school look. We served lemonade and horchata so the view was still lovely when the guests at the party were sipping. The milk bottles were small, so no drink could be filled longer than 20 minutes. So they've held up well during this time. Some people have changed their straws while refilling, but by no means have the straws become unusable. These are paper straws so expect prolonged soaking in the liquid. I was happy with the product knowing exactly what kind of product it was and that it wasn't the best products out there. While most paper straws on the market sell for a few dollars in packs of 25, these sell for the same few dollars in packs of 144. Actually, that's why I bought it for our party. Disposables are typically thrown away at parties long before they are fully functional. So why spend more money on fewer items or non-sustainable options? I collected all the milk bottles to wash after the party and the straws that were left in the bottles I threw on the compost heap. If I were a fan of straw every day, I would buy it more often and return it to the ground via my compost heap.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Weak Set
