The cards are made out of cardboard, the letters and numbers are made out of wood or wood like material. The less impressive part is the box it comes in it seems flimsy and if I accidentally step on it it would probably crack not a big deal. What is important is the context of what’s in the box. It’s well made and perfect for helping my 3 year old to become familiar with letters and numbers. We only go over a few at a time but the images and being able to trace the letters or placing the letter on the cards is slowly helping my daughter to understand value sounds how to spell out the letters of her name. She is 3 so it will take lots of practice. It’s a great set to play around with and make up games instead of just following the basics of the set up. I recommend this set and to be creative with meeting your child’s needs.
