Save Sea Turtles One Straw at a Time

I don't usually use a straw, and when I do I use a reusable one. But sometimes it's not available because I need to wash it or something, and drinking straight from a cup doesn't work. I bought a box of these because they were recommended by a travel website I use. I can just toss a handful in my car, suitcase or backpack and have them handy when I can't use my reusable straw. Yesterday I tried one of these - they are very similar to ordinary plastic straws. They feel very similar and do not degrade immediately like paper. I used it for a few different drinks throughout the day to make sure it didn't get wet right away. It wasn't a problem. Assuming they break down in water after a while (and the recommended website actually showed a video of it dissolving over time in an aquarium), I think that's great. I'd rather not throw away the straws at all, but sometimes it's hard to help and having it on hand is a good option.
