This product works very well. I placed the two pieces in different places and looked at the plane of the closed lid. The pads are very firm which is good as they don't shrink over time. I knew they were going to be very difficult to cut with a utility knife once installed, so I laid the entire gasket in place and figured out how much I would have to cut off. I then used wire cutters to cut the gaskets which cut very easily. Then I carefully positioned the spacers with a screwdriver and a hammer, being extra careful not to break the porcelain.
