It has some very interesting features like slow motion and time lapse

I can't speak for extreme sports enthusiasts but I have to say that this camera exceeded all my expectations. I was looking for an HD camera to record and photograph my son at BJJ tournaments. I had an issue (mind you, I say it was) that made it difficult to record competitions considering you're not the only proud dad watching your kids. You stopped blocking someone else's review or your review was blocked by someone, never on purpose, but usually you get caught up in the process. You had to take it off for minor adjustments, and you only had an idea of what you were recording. The SP1 has eliminated those issues with a wide-angle lens, capturing a wider view of what it's recording and all but eliminating the need to center the subject. I found it performed very well in low light and the image sharpness is excellent outdoors. It has some very cool features like slow motion and time lapse. I was under the impression that the device could detect when it was upside down and correct itself, but by mounting it on my sun visor in my car with the flat bottom of the camera facing up, my recorded video was on the Head. With a fully charged battery I was able to record 3 hours and 46 minutes non-stop. No charger is provided, you can only charge the battery when it is installed in the device. As mentioned by another reviewer, once you decide on the model number used by JK Lmtd, the battery is hard to find. It fits as a Samsung replacement battery if you use a different type plate number. The Android app for this device is an EPIC bug! The wireless connection is very slow and needs to be reconnected every time you turn off the device. I'm guessing the concept is to be able to use and control the camera from your iPhone or Android phone, but I can't prove that because I haven't gotten it working on my iPhone 5 yet. phone it is not working. doesn't work at all, you'll see controls on your phone to toggle between taking photos or videos, and a record/shutter button, but you're literally blind and have no way of knowing if pressing those buttons will work if the View from your phone is not working and the camera's view screen only shows a wireless connection, making the view screen completely useless in this mode. There's a noticeable delay between pressing the button and the actual picture being taken with the app, browsing or viewing content you've recorded is also an issue Kodak needs to know that the wireless capability for the device is not up to date, request video and pictures. must be downloaded to view as this results in choppy videos or partial loading of images. Either way, it gets moot as the app crashes every time you try to download more than one file. Please take this into account when you record 8 videos and over a hundred photos and you decide what to watch. Remember that the browser screen on the device is useless when using the app and the only way to use it is to disable the wireless connection, which is annoying because reconnecting is like groundhog day. Treat it like you connected it first. the whole time. That's the only reason I deducted a star for this app, if it was sold separately I would give the app 1 star, even less if we may. So in short. The camera is good, the app is bad.
