Review on πŸ–₯️ ElectricQuilt A-007MAC ArtCraft 7 Software for MAC by Karla Richter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Runs on Mac OS but is not really a "Mac version "

This is a highly reliable application that will do anything you need it to do. However, if like me you're a pure Mac user (I've used a Mac since 1989) and have little to no experience with a Windows computer, you'll find the learning curve even more difficult. works fine on my mac laptop but the interface is designed as a windows interface. The file structure looks like it does on Windows, not on the Mac. (See photo). Apparently a Windows programmer just jumped in and made the necessary changes to make it work on Mac OS. The app would be much more user-friendly for Mac users if a Mac programmer stepped in and made the interface more Mac-like. (Hopefully this will happen in a future update). I'd happily pay full price for an updated version in the future as long as it's more Mac-like. So if you're a relatively new Mac user or use both operating systems frequently, you might want to focus on learning the app. However, only Mac users will want to know, you should not only learn the app, but also learn Windows at the same time. . .something a right-brained person like me has big problems. August 6, 2015: Last weekend I decided to just focus on the basics for a few days. . .and finally I think I've gotten to a point now where I can continue learning without being distracted by the amazing feel of Windows. I have developed several blocks and am happy with my progress. . .so I am adding a star to my rating. ***UPDATE: NOVEMBER 4, 2017*** I found out tonight that the EQ7 license number is not found in the Help/About EQ7 menu that Electric Quilt claims. This is in the Windows version but not in the Mac version. So unless you know exactly where to find your software's box to get this code, there are no plans to upgrade to EQ8, at least not at the cost of the upgrade. Will have to buy everything new. . .and the price has increased significantly.
