I've found that some of the cheaper assembly kits come with wires advertised as 8 gauge, but when you actually get them you'll find something like 14 gauge wire with much thicker insulation. Copper wire with high-quality insulation. It is easy to use, behaves very well and seems to meet the advertised specifications. I installed an aftermarket subwoofer/woofer combo in my new car in addition to the existing factory radio which is pretty good on its own. The subwoofer adds a whole new dimension to the sound and makes it so much better than stereo! The small investment of time and money is definitely worth it. In fact, I was so pleased with the results that I duplicated the purchase (including an InstallGear 8 gauge cable) and installed another for my wife. blow. She was VERY happy with the result! Happy wife happy life!
