Review on πŸ’‘ Tecware Phantom 87-Key RGB LED Mechanical Keyboard with Outemu Blue Switch by Ricky Brooks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is the keyboard you've been looking for. - with a transition clause.

This is the best keyboard I have ever used. The per-key RGB backlighting, choice of three switch types, and solid build quality all contribute to making this one of the best decisions I've made when choosing a new keyboard. I miss the keyboard on the side and was quite surprised to see how much I used it, but I needed extra room for the mouse so I chose this over the 107 button design. As for caution. I sometimes have an issue with the keyboard where the WASD and arrow keys sometimes get swapped during use without prompting the user. That's fine, just disconnect and reconnect your keyboard and you're good to go. It seems to happen about every three months, so it's definitely not a rule break. The software is relatively easy to use, but lacks some of the features I was hoping for, such as: B. Inverted reactivity (lights stay on normally). and dark waves or other colors when triggered) and a different design for a smaller keyboard. You also can't permanently change the color of an individual button in the user settings. There seems to be a version of the software loaded that works for both. Switching between lighting modes also causes the keyboard to flicker prior to setting the new setting. The keyboard has minimal flex, if any, when I tried to flex it. Has a sturdy metal frame. which is quite aesthetic. A small note on the color choices for the built-in keyboard: Apparently the manufacturer didn't take the reduced number of keys into account when creating the RGB color choices on the keyboard. By pressing Fn + = you can choose any color the keyboard can play and light up any key with the color you want to choose. I suspect the color varies from red to purple on a 107-key keyboard. On a smaller keyboard, however, your choices are limited from yellowish-orange to purple. Overall, I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone willing to shell out more than the cost of this board for a Cherry keyboard. There is everything anyone could need and a considerable amount of what anyone could need.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
