Review on Baofeng BF-888S Radio by Agata Kowalik ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I have not regretted the purchase, everything is fine.

Modulation is terrible. The antenna is horrendous (came up from Chinanwood). Range? In urban areas, 500-700 meters is confident, it’s stupid to wish for more, in open areas you can give 10 kilometers, the question of the radio horizon (the height of correspondents), in the forest, will disappoint, but this is for any 70 centimeters, plus or minus 100-200 meters. The receiver on the extended antenna shuts up (well, this is when the antenna weighs the size of this fart). The main thing is that I gave it to the children for a walk and it’s not a pity and there is a connection, well, don’t give them the FT-60. Definitely more flexible and better than ready-made PMR radio sets, the power is greater, the antenna can be screwed on another. Yes, in the end, set up *between* channels in PMR with narrowband modulation and a noise canceling tone. Not suitable for use in harsh conditions, but no one promised. With ambient noise, filthy intelligibility, but again, good intelligibility for motors over 10,000 and above, because DSP is on board. Summary - the most affordable means of radio communication, which provides this very radio communication for $ 13 apiece out of the box (but a programming cable is needed, however, it is $ 5).

Pros
  • Price. It works.
Cons
  • For 800? Probably not obvious.
