These are the first saddlebags I have ever bought for my 2009 vstar 950. I had to trim the length so they weren't too close to the exhaust, but that just gave me more time on my bike. No big deal, I just laced the two bags tighter together so they connect under the passenger seat. Other pockets didn't really bother me, although the strap pocket didn't fit because of the back width. But the pockets are good and if you don't want hard pockets they seem pretty good. I like that you don't have to unzip them to disable the loop. They are attached with clips or handles. Not sure what their names are. But much easier to remove than with a zipper. Good for long distance travel and you can even put a small tent in it if you have to, which I like. Rain sometimes sets in and lasts a long time.
