Bought for a dressing room that I have converted into a small printer room for our home office. I have attached the power cord so that it can be plugged into an outlet. It should turn on when someone enters the closet and stay on long enough afterward. I was worried it would be too sensitive if someone walked in with the door open, but it works exactly as I hoped. Very bright but not too bright in a fairly small room. The default settings work well, turning on immediately when someone enters the room and turning off about 15 seconds after leaving the room. Can't comment on durability yet, but build quality is good, instructions are clear, and the light looks good. I will order another one for an extra dressing room.
