Review on Revolutionize Your BBQ Experience: Smart Bluetooth BBQ Grill Thermometer with Upgraded Stainless Probe - Leave it in Oven, BBQ or Smoker, and Get Wireless Remote Alerts via iOS/Android Phone WiFi App by Karen Cooper

Outstanding performance at a reasonable price.

This Bluetooth barbecue thermometer has proven itself. I really like the sensor in this device. It's about two inches longer than most thermometers in this price range, and that extra length allows for more placement freedom than shorter versions of the probe. In addition, the probe has a right angle bend at the end of the cable. I find that a simple bend makes plugging and unplugging easier. This bend replaces the huge piece of metal most people have and makes it easier to route the cable out of the way because you can actually control which way the cable comes out. Also, with this bend I worry less about getting the inside of the probe wet and shorting out because I can clean it and then rinse it under the running water and keep the wet stuff about two inches from the area that needs to stay dry. . It's probably important to note that you MUST have location service enabled when you install the app or you won't be able to install it. The location is not required after the installation is complete, so you can disable it and run the app later. The application has a time dependent temperature display which I like. This allows you to see how quickly things are happening internally to give you an idea of how long it will take. When you see that quite a bit of time has passed and the reading isn't much higher than when you first launched the app, remember to put the food on the grill. I hate to admit that I've done this a number of times, and while it's embarrassing to admit, this mistake should be corrected sooner rather than later. The app lets you know how your transmitter battery is doing and if your phone is getting a good signal. If you go out of range briefly and then come back it will appear to reconnect on its own and if you lose signal between your phone and the transmitter for too long an alarm will sound to let you know the signal has been lost is. .I think what I like the most is that the transmitter box is small and light. If you want, you can just leave it hanging off the grill. You don't have to look for a place that's close enough and cool enough not to melt down a larger transmitter.
