I bought this drive at the end of 2018 and it worked great until 2 months ago. At this point I started getting disk read errors. About a month ago, the status indicator turned red. Tech support took up to 2 weeks to get back to me and consisted of the obvious workarounds 1. Try a different computer2. Try a different USB cable3. Try a different port on the computer as the 5 has a 5 year warranty I was able to get a new drive. I could either return my drive first, wait for it to arrive and then wait for another drive to be shipped to me, or I could pay $35 to get a new drive right away and then send the defective one back. Due to shipping delays I have decided to pay for a new drive before returning the defective one. My new drive arrived (later than expected) and I restored all the data to it. After 3 days I turned on my computer and saw a message that MaxOS couldn't repair the drive and that I should back up and reformat the data. Attempts to reformat were unsuccessful. The replacement drive I received was a certified repair which wouldn't bother me if it worked. I filled out the support form on their website (the website says you can upload attachments but it doesn't work). I asked for a refund as I can no longer trust my data to this type of device. I'm not inclined to wait another 2 weeks for a help reply and then wait for another disc to ship and hope it works properly!
