Review on Logitech Wireless Trackball M570 Renewed by Adam Listopad ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, not disappointed.

The new MX Ergo trackball has the best ball in a short test. Its pros: I will not talk about the advantages of the "trackball" nature itself - you need to try it and decide for yourself. Adherents do not need to explain anything, but for neophytes it is better to try the trackball in action for at least a week. Ergonomics of the model are very good, and additional buttons and hand position. I have the ninth size of gloves - the hand feels good, although the body is wider by 5-10mm, I would be happy. But, these are minor quibbles. Its cons: Microswitches under the main buttons. Firstly, reliability, and secondly, a very small pressing force - if the hand is not small, putting it on the button and relaxing your fingers, you can accidentally trigger the switch. This strains, and causes the fingers to involuntarily hang over the buttons, which ultimately leads to pain in the ligaments. Reliability. After two years, the left button died - I had to change the microswitch myself. Changed to a more condo. Tactile became even more pleasant - the click became clearer. After four years, the switch under the right button died)) And the switch from the donor Genius is still alive!)) The scroll wheel is a bit fuzzy. Sometimes scrolling by one increment does not lead to window scrolling, but I can't say that this happens very often or that it interferes greatly with work. The ball, this is the main thing - everyone writes about it - "jerky movement", or rest friction in our opinion. The bottom line is that the materials from which the ball is made and its stops are not friendly when contaminated and / or when completely degreased . There are several solutions to this problem: 1. You can constantly wipe both the ball and the stops with a napkin, and rub the ball itself on your forehead, for example (sebum is apparently conceived by engineers as a suitable lubricant for this plastic). Or use paraffin. Rides more or less, but requires frequent repetition. 2. You can put Teflon mouse stickers under the ball. Cut into small pieces and glued to the stops of the ball, they make micro-movements smoother, the problem of "breaking off" is practically solved. But the possibility of fast scrolling disappears. 3. Change the ball to the red one from the old TrackMan. They say it helps. Haven't tried it myself. 4. Grinding the ball with very fine sandpaper. 2500-3000. To a smooth matte finish. This reduces friction at rest (the ball "sticks" less) but increases friction during movement. Some balance between Teflon stickers and constant lubrication.
