So this is officially my second mount. I received my first one a little over a week ago and it was delivered to me broken. The screw that attaches the ball to the back of the plate has come loose and unfortunately cannot be screwed back in. I thought it was used and probably just not noticed. So I contacted customer service and we made the manufacturer wait for the dance but I decided to return it. After the return was through, I ordered a brand new one. Released today. I opened the package and took out the mount. Everything looked fine. I breathed a sigh of relief. Now I don't want to use a vent clip so I did a little research and found other ball mounts of the same size that I could attach to my dash. So I assembled everything and started dressing. attachment rotation. The moment the mount began to harden, the ball socket came loose from the mount. I didn't do Superman puffs, I didn't use any tools, I just started puffing and popping. I couldn't believe it. By simply sticking the ball shell to the back of the mount, durability is extremely high. It doesn't detract from the functionality. So I don't understand why the manufacturer didn't do that. Had this piece been glued or otherwise attached I would have given it a solid 4-5 stars. But in reality it should only get 1. If yes. Anyway, I'm trying to decide if I want to return this and just get a self-adhesive metal plate for my Z3 or a different mount altogether. I only wish the Z3 could stick to magnets like the Z.TL; D. Extremely easy to break for the amount you pay. Can be repaired but you really don't have to for the price you paid for a new item.
