I have been using the same hair dryer for about 20 years. I never liked the diffuser because it has spokes. I bought this small hair dryer mainly because it's a lot smaller than my current one and the diffuser is curved, concave and bowl-like. Wow, that's a strong little workhorse! Very strong blowing power, it has two speeds. I use a lower speed to cool my hair and dryer before turning it off. The diffuser works really well, I feel like it dries a larger area of my hair than my old diffuser because of its shape. Also, unlike my old hair dryer, it contains negative ions and I can definitely tell a difference, my hair is a lot less frizzy after drying. It is described as a travel hair dryer, although it is quite compact I find it quite heavy for traveling. The head can rotate in two directions, not really sure what the purpose of that is, unless it's for travelling/packing, but I really don't see much of a difference in either case. In general, I like the fact that my old dryer has been retired.
