It looks quite large in the photo but it was quite large when it arrived. The size is exactly the same as the picture - 7.5 inches. Just note that they are quite large. So if you are planning to grind a lot of spices with these grinders then you are fine. The fine adjustment on the bottom works great. Simply turn the knob clockwise or counterclockwise. I'm not sure how strong the seal above is to call it 100% fresh, but so far I'm happy with the overall design and have no complaints so far. These pepper mill salts are a lot cheaper than anywhere else I can find.
