Did not work for Target Display Mode
I bought this to use a mid 2010 iMac with Mini Display Port running High Sierra as an external monitor (target display mode) for my 2018 MBP running Catalina. I couldn't get it to work using the Command-F2 keys on my iMac keyboard.
