Review on 🚧 REF DB Retroreflective Daybright Tape by Reflexite by Steven Cox

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect security upgrade for my black Trek Dual Sport

After some research I decided to use this tape to add some reflectivity to my black Trek bike - clearly the worst color for night visibility. I used stripes along some exposed black areas on the sides of the frame and fork tube. As mentioned in some reviews, for them to really stand out, the light needs to be shining at the right angle. However, when it shines at the right angle, they really shine a lot. This does not only mean artificial lighting such as headlights and flashlights. They also reflect sunlight: when the bike spins in the sun, the stripes light up brightly. They have strong adhesive and fit snugly. Not too tight though - I put the pair on at the wrong angle and was able to easily (gently!) tug on the band to remove. Then immediately put it in another place and the seal was just as strong. And all without damaging the paint. Does its job well and looks cool.

Pros
  • The tape is weather resistant and comes with a 5 year guarantee. Maintains reflectivity after impact. This high-visibility material is typically 6 or 7 times more reflective than the equivalent color of engineering grade reflective tape because it uses prism technology instead of glass beads, allowing you to see it from a much greater distance.
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
