I moved my desk and network switch to the other side of the room. The cable to the switch ran through several walls and I didn't want to use another switch or reroute the longer cable. I used this with another cable to extend the connection to the new switch location. I have multiple downstream devices and a 1Gbps internet connection. Speed tests showed no difference using this port, and reliability was solid (I work from home full-time).
