This is a good scanner but don't buy it if reading SRS and ABS codes is important to you. I have a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country Van that has the SRS light on. I bought this Innova 3160d code reader because it is designed to read ABS and SRS codes for many vehicles, one of which is Chrysler. In fact, I called the Innova technicians and confirmed to them that they had read the codes correctly for a 2002 Chrysler T&C SRS prior to purchase. When I put it in the van, "05 Chrysler SRS Lefthand Zone Sensor" came up. . However, when I connected the reader to the Innova Smart Solutions online service, it did not find the relevant SRS code and instead showed "P0005", the fuel valve engine code. In fact, this car has no front impact zone sensors. This functionality is provided by accelerometers built into the ORC/ACM module in the van. When I called the dealer they didn't recognize the SRS code '05' and also said they didn't know the description of the code for this particular vehicle. An internet search revealed that I am not the only one who has received bogus codes from this scanner. I've come across multiple threads showing the same symptoms, using the same scanner, and getting the same readings. In their cases, they also said Chrysler technicians told them it was an incorrect code and description. I've only checked Chrysler SRS codes, but I can bet the problem will be similar for all manufacturers' SRS codes. When I called the folks at Innova about this issue they had no explanation but they took my information and said they would find a similar car and test it. to see what product development staff need to do to get the right reading and interpretation. I asked when I could get an answer from them and they said they wouldn't call back, had no idea when they would get there and suggested I just submit a product update later that fixes the problem. I don't think I was really surprised by this, but I'm still disappointed that the scanner couldn't do what they specifically promised. Looking back, I don't think they said it was right. :(I would say if you need to read the SRS or ABS codes you have to pay $100 to have the dealer read them for you with their diagnostic system. Then buy a much cheaper scanner to get the OBD Read II codes yourself.
