We've been using a 4 foot faux tree for a few years that sits in a nice urn on the table top that looked pretty decent especially when covered with white lights and decorations. We have large happy dogs that are clumsy around large trees, so table trees are a better fit. But as the children got older and left the nest, I was afraid to sneak up the rickety attic stairs to fetch the Christmas tree and boxes of decorations alone. Luckily my daughter is moving into her little house just before Christmas and needs a tree. Perfect time to rejuvenate my old tree and invest in something smaller that can be kept somewhere easy to access. Enter this little gem! I am amazed at the realism of this tree. The tree appears with branches pressed tightly to the trunk, a mix of real branches with less realistic fill branches. (Don't worry about the filler branches—once you've fluffed up all the branches, they'll blend in seamlessly with the rest.) Wrapped around the outside of the tree is a garland of fairy-style garlands. The stem is placed in a cement-like material in an ordinary green plastic greenhouse pot. My tree is a bit warped in the pot, but since I plan to place the green pot in an antique zinc pot, I can tape a piece of cardboard under one side to help straighten the tree. I started by removing the headlights entirely and setting them aside. I then spent about 30 minutes setting up and fluffing up the branches, then turned the light back on. The result is a cute, fluffy, realistic tree. Despite the small size, there is still plenty of room for decorations. The lights are a bit tight so I add another strand. Lamps that operate on 3 AA batteries also have a timer, which is very convenient. This tree is very light so it is very easy to move for storage. In fact, I take the batteries out of their container and cover the tree with a garbage bag, leaving lights and decorations on the tree for easy storage in my home office closet. I highly recommend this tree and will definitely buy it again. I can't wait to finish wearing it!
