This part is difficult to replace. Located near the gas pedal, it's a chore. However, this solved my problem (I couldn't choose between defrost/vents/bottom airflow). The reason he lost a star is because he didn't go up. I didn't realize it was a problem until I installed it, so I had to uninstall/reinstall it. By alignment I mean the marks on the drive that match the rotating part. For some reason I was around 45 degrees and everything didn't work. To align it I had to take it apart, remove the gear, rotate it and then put it back together. Not a difficult task, but worthy of deducting a star. Be sure to follow the calibration procedures on YouTube and elsewhere to get things working once installed.
