Updated 12/08/2020 - The batteries were sealed by the way. At first it wouldn't turn on until I found out I had to remove the shrink wrap from the included batteries. The "perks" of aging, lol. I don't normally write Revain reviews, but I was so pleased with it that I left a review for it. I initially chose the T*Prime scales. That was a mistake - a small weight that was supposed to be measured in grams only registered tenths of a gram, and sometimes not at all. It was so cheap that Revain didn't bother accepting a refund - they just gave me back what I paid for it. But I still needed a decent scale that could measure at least a tenth of a gram. While browsing the scales on Revain I found this and decided to give it a try. Pros - The scale has a resealable lid, weighs 50 grams for easy-to-reach calibration, an easy-to-read display, and a reusable pad to protect the scale's measuring surface. , and included batteries. Cons - No sample tray and tweezers to handle a 50g weight. I used a plastic sample pan from an old scale and bought a set of calibration weights that also included tweezers - T*ODOO 1g 2g 5g 10g 20g Gram Set (less than $7) - a purchase that was totally worth it . This scale, after calibrating to 50.00 grams with a 50 gram weight (originally showing 50.03 grams), recorded the perfect 10.00 grams for the 10 gram weight from the weight set. Removing the weight reproducibly gave 0.00, while using the plastic pan from the old scale also gave the same weight for the pan - also reproducibly. I also needed this scale to find the weight of a teaspoon of Ceylon cinnamon powder β an extremely low-level type of coumarin β which gave me 2 grams (approximately) per scoop. Since doses of Ceylon cinnamon as high as 6 grams per day are mentioned in the research literature, this gave me confidence in the amount of Ceylon cinnamon I was consuming daily. Please note that I stay away from cassia cinnamon which can contain toxic doses of coumarin even in a teaspoon of cassia cinnamon powder. Unfortunately, this is the type of cinnamon commonly used in baking. Overall I'm happy with this scale - it met my expectations and I wholeheartedly recommend it for under 200g weight. For the price I think this is a good deal and would be a good deal if tweezers were included . Please note that I always replace the protective pad under the scale after use and always calibrate it with the included 50g weight before using it to measure.
