Protects against stains but doesn't smell
These aren't bad things and are probably more suitable for babies. I bought this for my dog. We use a baby foam mattress for her. She has bladder control problems and wets her bed. I change them often and have bought several of them. While it doesn't look like the urine is draining, it definitely smells like it. I also use wet pads between this bedspread and the mattress. If I were to use this for a toddler who often sets up the bed I don't think it would be worth it as the mattress isn't really protected.
