This meter looks good and I've had good luck with Fill-Rite in the past. I use it on a diesel transfer tank. This fuel meter works with diesel, gasoline, kerosene, mineral spirits, Stoddard solvents and heptane. It is measured in gallons and tenths. It has a main counter equal to total gallons and a secondary counter that can be reset by turning the wheel on the side. The master counter can be reset and this unit can be recalibrated if it ever fails. It comes with instructions on how to do both. I already had about 30 gallons on the meter but that wasn't really a problem for me. It also came with teflon tape and fittings, but if you have a fuel filter I recommend keeping extra elbows and fittings on hand so you can twist it up and get it working. We keep a log and record the date, user, starting quantity, ending quantity and total gallons pumped. If an entry is missing, where the starting amount does not match the last ending amount, we ask the person to circle the start number there to draw our attention to it. It seems very accurate. This helps you keep track of who used the tank and also helps you ensure you are not being undercut by the fuel supplier, which is very common in our area. The fact that you have a meter on your tank is a signal to the fuel supplier that you are up to date and encourages them to add what they charge you. With the cost of diesel fuel, the meter is far from worth it. It also helps you know when it's time to order again and keeps you from sucking the last gallon out of your tank, which contains all that water, rust, dirt and everything else at the bottom of your tank. By the way, tilt your tank so that the end of the choke is on the high side so you don't suck water, dirt, debris, etc. into the bottom of your tank. Update 2019: 4 years old and still valid. Update 2021 - still running
