Photo pages feel fairly sturdy and photos slide in easily, especially when the plastic is pushed back a bit. I didn't count the number of pages but it seems like a lot. I use these albums primarily to archive prints from digital photos and this is a very inexpensive way to do that. Now that I have enough space in my new album, it's time to print out my cats' footprints and put them in the album. And no, there is no space for annotations next to the photo unless you write in the margin with holes. Each slot has a white card, so multiple symbols can land on that card. But to do this you need to remove the card.
