I have to say I haven't worked with it in years and I have some oil etc to do some things but . not with this wax. I have a wonderful beeswax that comes with a (high end) cutting board. Melts at room temperature, spreads like butter on wood. It didn't soften in my hand in 10 minutes. I tried it on a wooden bowl which looked dry and rubbed rather than spread out like this. I gave some to my daughter who has some beeswax that she bought from a beekeeper. After a minute or two it softened and spread across the tree. I wanted to say I'm not a chemist so not sure, but my daughter looked up some articles on chemistry etc. More than one noted that processed beeswax usually contains some paraffin, and there are several easy ones for these tests. First, when it glows under a black light, and of course it does. Even purified beeswax should have a faint honey scent. It's not like this. So I can say that it is absolutely not clean. I'm not even sure if it's beeswax, but if it is, that's not all. I wouldn't use it in cosmetics or anything you put on your body. Paraffin is a product of oil refining. Some people might not like it, but you should know what you're using. My daughter said we can always make candles. It has some pure beeswax in case we want to make something else with it when the other stuff I ordered gets here. Not sure if it's worth mentioning that almost everything on the bag is misspelled. It's quick to collect, but so quick that no one bothered to find a good translator.
