Gave this mini bin to my husband for Christmas (2018). It is used as a mini trash can on the coffee table. Perfect for his candy wrappers etc when he's on the couch watching sports. The size of the tabletop is perfect. I'm glad I found it after a long search that resulted in normal sized kitchen bins becoming bathroom bins. In addition, the top door swings freely, but will return to a horizontal position unless blocked, of course. I had no issues with the functionality or quality of this black plastic mini jar. One thing to note is that the lid slides off easily for emptying, but doesn't (stay) too loose. I've seen it used as a temporary kitchen compost bin. A hinged door would hardly affect the smell when used for a long time. Overall, it keeps our living room tidy and looks like its construction will last.
