I've tried several brands of this type of "wire" around the headphones for headphones (I prefer them for work) . First of all, they are reasonably priced with reasonable sound quality. The sound quality is probably excellent for the size and price. If you use them to run cables, they are quite heavy and often loose. If you use them for lounging, they seem to be very durable and you would think they are durable. The wire that runs around the ear is a bit short in my opinion. A longer flexible wire provides a more secure fit/feel. It's $10 after all, so take my specifics with a grain of salt. I will update if they break like the last brand did after 60 days of use.
