If you are like me, and were searching for a playpen for your little fuzz butts to have free roam inside of while you may be working or cannot keep a complete eye on - I do recommend this, BUTTTT with some adjustments. So originally, I set this up with the zip ties it requires for setup and it looked alright. I was really excited to try this out because it would serve as a great buffer for them to play in during my work hours. Originally, my boys got through it in like 5 minutes. They stuck their noses through one of the edges, and then ripped the two walls apart. My mistake for not securing all 3 zip tie holes (I didn’t see the middle one).Second attempt, I had all 3 posts zip tied on every wall. This definitely threw my boys for a loop, but low and behold they are much smarter than their own good and just managed to cram their heads underneath and with their paws lift the walls up and push it up into the air to get out.Third attempt, I made this structure into a rectangle and with the extra 4 walls made a floor with zip ties. So far, they’ve been inside for about an hour and a half and it looks like it is finally ferret proof (but of course we can never really be too sure because whenever something feels like it’s been secured for good they manage to outsmart themselves and get out).So with that being said, I recommend buying a whole pack of zip ties because it was a lot of trial and error. The zip ties that came with this broke and were kind of weak. The walls of this are a double layered plastic material, so it doesn’t feel too sturdy - but like I said they’ve been contained for about an hour now. With this set, I was able to build the rectangle walls and most of the floor. I do have a small portion of my carpet that is not covered by the flooring, just because they were not long enough. However, the corners are reinforced now (the main escaping point) and so far so good. I did have to cut a few hole in the sides to make room for my own zip ties when making the floor though, so keep that in mind as well.Bonus points for being able to watch them drag their noses down the clear walls trying to find a way out, 10/10 very cute and funny.UPDATE: So today they were doing very good in the playpen, I got pretty sucked into work and as I looked to check in and see how they were my youngest ferret had jumped up and was balancing himself on the ledge and trying to lift himself out. Maybe get a taller wall for them. These guys are so smart, it blows my mind.
