In order for me to return a defective disk to the manufacturer, they provided me with instructions on how to pack it. The instructions included wrapping it in antistatic film, bubble wrap, cardboard, plus adhesive tape and stick labels taken from the letter. The gentlemen at the reception area opened the package and informed us that they would take care of everything themselves:) We can confirm that the disk "operated" in an extremely quiet manner. Pros on deck: the support service for the manufacturer replied immediately to a complaint regarding a failure and provided a replacement for the marriage within two weeks of receiving the complaint. These are some downsides: The computer detected the drive immediately upon powering up, but it reported that it was broken and that the capacity was just 480 GB rather than 1000 GB. Following the second inclusion, the disk disappeared from view. Experimented with a variety of SAT cables and inputs. To no avail. I had to spend thirty minutes registering the disk on the Seagate website in order to create a warranty claim on it. You are required to enter all of your information in Latin, and there are a lot of menus and windows that aren't necessary.
