Review on Netgear WG121 Wireless 802 11G Adapter by Nick Kirschenmann

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Windows is fine - Linux is fine

When I installed it on my computer, it wasn't that easy. I had to boot XP into safe mode multiple times to get it working. Then, miraculously, everything works perfectly. When I transferred it to another computer, the software refused to remember the WEP key. Next comes Linux. I had an old Linksys WDT11-WPC11 (PCI-to-PCIMCIA [802.11B] card) that worked but barely picked up a signal. I bought the Netgear WG121 because it was external, it was cheap (discounts and how it was .G so it was a good buy) and it was ok if I upgraded to 802.11G. So now I install linux and the card doesn't work when I follow the linux-wlan-ng guide. Suggestions: - If you need 802.11 and want USB2.0, go ahead! Build an antenna and use Linux), this product does not allow you to use a separate antenna (unless you can clarify) and does not work with Linux. a while.

Pros
  • Powered by USB 2.0
Cons
  • Some little things
