Edit July 2020: Since I purchased this kit and left a 3 star review, the company has contacted me multiple times from different email addresses and asked me to change my rating. They offered to pay me for it. I find this unethical and fed up with being contacted (they kept doing it even after I specifically asked them to stop). We strongly recommend avoiding this product. Or if you buy it, don't leave feedback! First review: I received this wood burning kit as a Christmas present and have just started using it. I've never used anything like this, I really needed some instructions that don't seem to exist. I couldn't even find any instructions online. They have temperature control but I don't know how hot it should be. I need to do more experiments to determine that. I've learned that to get a straight, detailed line, the wood really has to be perfectly smooth. I also found it difficult to control the details because the handle is so far from the tip. Maybe it's the standard, but it offers a more difficult task.
